This is short edit of some of the shots I got up in the Achiltibuie area of NW Scotland in early January. I hope it conveys some of the beauty and atmosphere of the area - personally I think the highlands as a whole are stunning.

A few shots I've put together of a couple of days out
filming last month. It seem's a very long time ago, now that everything is suddenly covered in a metre of snow.
I filmed most of this short in the Peak District, Derbyshire, England.

I've previously shot a lot on the Canon 7d and 5dmk2, but for this short I got my hand's on a 550d to put it through it's paces.
Lenses : Sigma 10-20, Canon 100-400 L, Canon 50mm 1.8, Sigma 50mm Macro
Other kit: Jib, 'Slider' dolly.

Cut: Final Cut Pro, Motion 4

This is a link to highlights of a job I did for the BBC. We shot a flash mob and stand-up/panel show on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh during the festival. I was shooting with a Canon 7d but we we're also shooting on REDcam and Sony XDcam. A 30 minute special brodcast of the event was on the red button (from 25th-28th August) and will be online in the next few days.

I've been a bit slack with this blogging lark so far but I will endeavor to update it more regularly in the future.

I've been lucky enough to get a job as a research associate in the School of Archaeology at the University of Nottingham. I will be working on a project to build up an online resource of picture and other multimedia content to enable the identification (and training in identification) of numerous fish species from bones found in archaeological sites. The photography is of slightly different subject matter than I am used to but I'm working with some great people and it's nice to bring my marine biology and imaging expertise together on one project.
